5 methods to reduce traffic problems in cities.

  • Putting a park and ride system, this helps by then not having as much traffic in the city center. Just buses, this makes it less awkward for vehicles as city centers are usually hard to get around.
  • Using multi-storey car parks, this can help cities because they multi-storey car parks get built upwards. This means it doesn't take up too much room in cities.
  • Cycle lanes this helps because it encourages people not to have to drive into the city. It is also a cheaper way of transport also means we won't need to be worrying about polution.
  • Public transport e.g- trains, buses & tube. Getting on either one of these transports is a lot cheaper and quicker way to get into the city because it reduces amount of congestion if your in a car. There are a lot of bus lanes, which is easy transport for buses. Also for the tube or train its a quick way to get into the city.
  • Oyster card (London) This is a really easy way to get around London, it means you don't have to worry about parking or anything. Its a great way to make use of the underground tube but can also be used on buses.

CBD- this is located in the center of the urban area, around the historical core. I've print screened a part of the CBD of Bristol, which was the Cathedral. This is the CBD because the cathedral is historical.
